If your employer retirement plan is on the Schwab platform and it allows for a Schwab Personal Choice Retirement Account\u00ae (PCRA)<\/strong>, you can now access Azzad\u2019s full complement of halal investment portfolios<\/a> through your existing retirement plan.<\/p>\n

The portfolios:<\/strong> Azzad\u2019s investment portfolios<\/a> and mutual funds<\/a> now available through a Charles Schwab PCRA include large-cap growth<\/a> and value<\/a>, mid-cap growth<\/a> and value<\/a>, small-cap growth<\/a> and value<\/a>, international<\/a>, dividends<\/a>, real estate investment trusts<\/a>, and halal fixed income<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The money managers:<\/strong> This program gives you access to an array of experienced portfolio management teams at institutional management companies that specialize in their asset classes. Essentially, Azzad maintains the halal screening process<\/strong> and the portfolio managers<\/a> do the stock-picking within those parameters.<\/p>\n

How it\u2019s halal:<\/strong> All potential investments are screened using Azzad\u2019s proprietary software, which follows halal investing<\/a> guidelines established by AAOIFI<\/a> (the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions).<\/p>\n

Zakah and purification:<\/strong> Azzad will calculate your zakah and purification totals<\/a> on that account and inform you of the amount each year for you to pay to charities of your choice. Paying purification and zakah<\/a> dues is an important part of halal investing<\/a>.<\/p>\n
